Fluidized bed conveying with SIPERM® materials
Technology description: Fluidized bed conveying
Flow behavior due to gas flow
Fine-grained bulk materials can take on a liquid-like state with a targeted supply of gas. The individual particles are separated from each other by the flowing air and set in a quasi-floating motion. In this phase, the material “flows” continuously even in only slightly inclined channels (fluidized bed channels). Inclination angles of just a few degrees are sufficient for reliable discharge.
This conveying method – fluidized bed conveying – is particularly suitable for fine, poorly flowing materials, such as plastic powder, cement, pigments or pesticides. It is an economical and gentle transport solution for large quantities over long distances.
Advantages of fluidized bed conveying with SIPERM®
-
Smooth, continuous material flow with even gas supply
-
Economical operation thanks to simple geometries without moving drive elements
-
Minimized maintenance effort – no rotating or wearing components
-
Can be automated through targeted control of gas volume, pressure and segment ventilation
-
Integrated process steps during transportation:
-
Cooling
-
Heating
-
Drying
-
Classify
-
Elution
-
Dosing
-
-
Flexible material access: material can be loaded and unloaded at any position in the channel
System components made from SIPERM® materials
We offer a wide range of aeration elements made of porous materials for the design of fluidized bed systems:
-
Panels, aeration pads, fluidizing trays made of SIPERM® R, B or HP
-
Pore size distribution selectable depending on gas quantity, particle size and channel width
-
Segmentation of large areas for targeted loosening and reduced air requirement
-
Customized special dimensions and connection configurations
Assemblies with SIPERM® elements are maintenance-free and can be cleaned during operation using gas counterflow or superheated steam. Depending on the material, chemical cleaning processes are also possible.
